Abaya and dress size guide: US, EU, UK and Turkish sizes
Our pieces are labelled in US sizes. Here is how they convert to European, Turkish and UK sizes, and how to choose when you are between two.
Our dresses and abayas are labelled in US sizes, from US 4 to US 18, with some styles from US 2 to US 22. If you usually shop in European, Turkish or UK sizes, the conversion is simple, and it is the same for every piece we make.
How the sizes convert
The European size, which is also the size used in Turkey, is the US size plus 32. The UK size is the US size plus 4.
- US 4 is EU 36 and UK 8
- US 8 is EU 40 and UK 12
- US 12 is EU 44 and UK 16
- US 16 is EU 48 and UK 20

Measure yourself rather than trusting a label
Sizes differ from one brand to the next, so the most reliable way to choose is to measure your bust, waist and hips and compare them with the chart. Use a soft tape over light clothing and keep it level and snug, not tight. Our guide to taking your measurements shows where each one is taken.
If you are between two sizes
Our pieces are cut with a relaxed, modest fit, so there is room built in. If your measurements fall between two sizes, choose the larger: an abaya or a maxi dress that skims the body will hang and move better than one that pulls.
Length matters as much as width
A standard size assumes a standard height. If you are petite or tall, or you like your hem to fall at a particular point, the length of an abaya or a maxi dress may matter more to you than the bust or waist.
When made to measure is the better choice
If your bust, waist and hips fall in different sizes, or the standard length is not right for your height, most of our dresses and abayas can be made to your own measurements. Choose Custom measurements on the product page, enter your measurements once, and they are saved for your next order. Made-to-measure pieces take 14 extra working days and cannot be returned, so take your time over the measurements, and write to us if you are unsure about any of them.
