Khimars in one, two and three layers

A khimar is a head covering that goes on over the head and falls over the shoulders and chest, so there is nothing to wrap or pin. This collection brings together all of ours: one-layer khimars, most with a ruffled edge, two-layer khimars, and three-layer khimars in chiffon.

The layers decide how a khimar looks and feels. One layer is the lightest. Two layers give more coverage and a fuller line. Three layers of chiffon move the most and suit occasions. Each product page says what that khimar is made of and how many layers it has.

Every khimar comes in one size, in colours from black, white and navy to pink, khaki, coffee and soft blues. Where a product page has measurements, they are under Size & fit.

Can a khimar be worn as a niqab?

Many of ours can. The two-layer and three-layer styles named "niqab feature" convert to a niqab, as the pictures on their pages show, and the one-layer ruffle-edge khimars have an integrated niqab and a headband that ties at the back. Check the description of the khimar you choose.

Which khimar is best for Umrah or travel?

The two-layer khimars in crease-resistant fabric are made for it: they come out of a suitcase ready to wear. Our guide to what to wear for Umrah has a packing list, and the prayer wear collection has gowns in khimar style that cover from head to hem.

What do I wear with a khimar?

A khimar sits over an abaya or a long modest dress. The dress or abaya shown in a khimar's pictures is not included unless its page says so. For a scarf you wrap yourself, see our hijabs.

Can I return a khimar?

Yes, within 14 days of delivery, unworn, unwashed and with its tags. The details are on the returns page.
